On Tuesday this week, Reception enjoyed an exciting trip to Blue Planet Aquarium. The children had a wonderful day exploring the underwater world and learning about a variety of sea creatures.

During the visit, they saw sharks, rays, colourful tropical fish, and many other fascinating animals from around the world. One of the highlights of the day was walking through the underwater tunnel, where sea life swam all around them, creating a truly memorable experience. They took part in a lesson about creepy crawlies and their various habitats and characteristics, and lots of the children gave fantastic answers. They finished off their day by watching the Aquatheatre show, in which they learned lots about the species at Blue Planet, watched a demonstration of how divers use their complicated equipment, and laughed as Betty the huge sand tiger shark swam past – asleep as she swam!

The trip supported the children's learning by helping them develop their understanding of different habitats and animals. It also inspired curiosity about the natural world and encouraged lots of discussion and questions throughout the day.

The children behaved brilliantly and represented the school wonderfully. They returned with lots of stories to share and many special memories from their fantastic day at Blue Planet.
